BISP Programs – Complete List of Benazir & Ehsaas Schemes
BISP runs four main sub-programmes under its umbrella: Benazir Kafaalat, Benazir Taleemi Wazaif, the Ramzan Package, and the wider Ehsaas initiative. Each one serves a different need, from quarterly cash support to education stipends to seasonal relief. This page gives you a short, accurate summary of each, then routes you to the full check guide for the one that applies to you. It sits under the wider Benazir Income Support Programme, which covers the full system these programmes operate within.
What Are BISP Programs
BISP programs are the individual schemes that deliver support to registered households. Some run every quarter, like Kafaalat. Others run seasonally, like the Ramzan Package, or target a specific group, like Taleemi Wazaif for school-going children. Your NSER registration and PMT score decide which of these you qualify for.
Benazir Kafaalat
Benazir Kafaalat is the core quarterly cash transfer, currently Rs. 14,500 per eligible household. It targets women heads of household with a PMT score below the approved cut-off. Most beneficiaries who mention “BISP payment” are talking about this programme specifically. For the full registration and status-check steps, see the Benazir Kafaalat check guide.
Benazir Taleemi Wazaif
Benazir Taleemi Wazaif is an education stipend for children of registered BISP households, paid on top of the regular Kafaalat amount. It covers different school stages, with the stipend amount rising as a child moves to a higher class. A child must be enrolled and attending school for the household to keep receiving it. Full eligibility rules and the CNIC check method are covered in the Taleemi Wazaif check by CNIC guide.
Ramzan Package
The Ramzan Package is a seasonal relief payment released around Ramadan, separate from the regular quarterly Kafaalat cycle. It’s meant to help registered families with the extra cost of food and household items during the holy month. Not every cycle includes this package; it depends on the year’s budget allocation. Timing, amount, and eligibility for the current package are detailed in the Ramzan Package check guide.
Ehsaas Explained
Ehsaas is the broader social protection umbrella that several BISP-linked schemes now operate under or coordinate with. Many people search for “Ehsaas” and “BISP” interchangeably, but they aren’t identical; Ehsaas covers a wider set of initiatives, some of which overlap with BISP’s own programmes. Checks for Ehsaas-linked schemes also run through the same 8171 system used for BISP. For a full breakdown of how the two connect, read Ehsaas Explained.
Not Eligible for One Program? Here’s What To Do
A household can qualify for Kafaalat but not for Taleemi Wazaif, or the other way round, since each programme has its own condition on top of your base PMT score. If a check shows “not eligible” for a specific programme, that result applies only to that programme, not your whole registration. You can check the status of any of these programmes by CNIC on the 8171 web portal. For a rejection you believe is wrong, visit your nearest BISP Tehsil office with your original CNIC, or call the helpline at 0800-26477.
FAQs
What programs fall under BISP?
The main ones are Benazir Kafaalat, Benazir Taleemi Wazaif, the Ramzan Package, and the wider Ehsaas initiative. Each has its own eligibility condition on top of your base BISP registration.
Can one family be part of multiple BISP programs at once?
Yes. A household already receiving Kafaalat can also qualify for Taleemi Wazaif if a child is enrolled in school, and for the Ramzan Package when it’s active.
Do all these programs require a separate registration?
No. Your original NSER registration covers your base eligibility. Programmes like Taleemi Wazaif or the Ramzan Package check your existing record against their own specific conditions.
What if I am not eligible for one program but not another?
This is normal, since each programme has its own condition. A “not eligible” result for Taleemi Wazaif, for example, doesn’t affect your Kafaalat status.
How do I check status for any of these programs?
Send your CNIC number to 8171 by SMS, or check it on the 8171 web portal. The same system covers Kafaalat, Taleemi Wazaif, the Ramzan Package, and Ehsaas-linked checks.
Is the Ramzan Package a one-time payment or recurring?
It’s a seasonal payment, released around Ramadan when the year’s budget includes it. It is separate from your regular quarterly Kafaalat payment.
Is Ehsaas the same thing as BISP?
Not exactly. Ehsaas is a broader umbrella of social protection initiatives, and several of its components now operate in coordination with BISP through the same 8171 check system.
